really wish i could've gone to the gig in brighton!! gutted,so near yet so far.hoping there will be more, your much loved roachford!
Saw Roachford last night at the Fleece in Bristol.
Intimate gig at a popular venue.
Played a selection of numbers, all well known, including 3 from "Permanent Shade..."
and I think 3 from the new album - all good.
The band were excellent and looked really cool, great sound from the drummer.
Andrew's voice, great though it always has been, seems to have improved with age, like a lot of singers.
There seems to be a more mellow tone to some of his notes.
He also showed plenty of energy on stage, the man has barely aged in the last 20 years !
The last time I saw this band was supporting M-People at the MEN Arena in December 1996 and
as I arrived late I only caught the last couple of songs.
Too long, far too long.
I don't know how many gigs they've played in the Uk in the intervening years but I've missed this band hugely.
They were great last night, absolutely great. Voice, music, songs, atmosphere.
The crowd wasn't large, probably half full, but as usual at Roachy gigs, they were absolute
die-hard fans, still turning out after 20 years.
Also, spotted some young fellas there, perhaps brought up
on early albums. Good parenting.
Hopefully, Andrew will continue for another 20 years and I for one, will definately
be turning out.
his all-time best song-shotgun...not to be seen in latest releases :(
Hi Andrew, I just heard a peace of your new song "Seize the day" on YouTube (I played it on and on), oh it's awesome, so a powerful song. Don't let us wait to long for your new album. And please do visit the Netherlands again as in December 2005.
